About Us

INTRODUCTION

Lachhuar is the town where our Kshatriyakund Teerth is located. Over two thousand years ago. Bhadrababu Swami gives a vivid and detailed description of Kshatriyakund in the Kalp sutra. This is the land of Shri Mahaveer Swami’s Janma: It was a capital city during the reign of King Siddharth. This land of three Kalyanaks of our last Teerthankar is one of the poorest towns in Bihar today. Most of the population is known as Adivasi and they are Non Vegetarians. Message of Mahaveer in the land of Mahaveer is all but forgotten. There are no industries, hospital or any kind of job opportunities. The only available income in town was cutting wood from the trees on the mountain or from pilgrims. Doliwalas make about two to three thousand rupees a year i they are lucky. Kids earn from begging. Most kids do not attend school. The cycle of poverty will keep rolling on and on from one generation to the next without any hopes of better days.

The goal of education is to nurture responsible, sensitive and conscientious citizens for the nation. Tirthankar Mahaveer Vidya Mandir takes this credo a step further, “To make every child a gift of God to mankind and a pride to the human race”. To shape to the dreams of Respected Upadhyay Shri Amarmuniji Maharaj, under the able guidance of Acharya Sri Chandanaji Maharaj, personal care of the other sadhvijis and absolute dedication of the Management members. Veerayatan moved ahead to extend helping hand to the little buds of Lacnnuar to flower them into thousand blooms. Veerayatar strives to uplift and empower humanity through humanitarianism (Seva), education (Shiksha) and inner development (Sadhna). The campus is spread over an area of two acres, approximately 100 km from Veerayatan, Rajgir and 5km from Sikandra local city.

Veerayatan in collaboration with Jaina-USA started a school in the village of Lachhuar. It was conceived on the auspicious occasion of 2600 Lord Mahaveer’s Jayanti in 2001. Situated in the birthplace of Lord Mahaveer, the main goals of the school are to improve the health, education and lifestyle of the children, and thus offer an alternative to a difficult life of subsistence farming. Stressing purity of thoughts and actions, the school seeks to teach the merits of vegetarianism and ahimsa in all components of life in accordance with Lord Mahavira’s teachings.

A JOURNEY STARTS…

Lachhuar, the birth place of our most revered Lord Mahaveer, capital city during the reign of King Siddhartha, was once a land of great opportunities and a blessed one too. The Lord himself chose to make it his home.
As the teaching of Lord spread light across the world to lead us away from evil darkness, the kshatriyakund teerth, Lachhuar soon descended into darkness of illiteracy, backwardness, extreme poverty & mist of illusions. With NO INDUSTRY, NO HOSPITAL, NO JOB OPPORTUNITY & lack of proper educational infrastructure, the cycle of poverty rolls on from one generation to next with NO HOPE of better days. Kids earn from begging & do not attend school.
The Message of Mahaveer, in the land of Mahaveer, is all but forgotten.

THE MISSION BEGINS…

To shape to the dreams of Upadhyay Sri Armarmuniji Maharaj, under the able guidance of Acharya Sri Chandnashriji, personal care of other sadhvijis and absolute dedication of the committee members, Veerayatan moved ahead to extend a helping hand to the little buds of Lachhuar to flower them into thousand blooms. Veerayatan strives to uplift and empower humanity through humanitarianism (seva), education (shiksha) and Inner development (sadhna).
